Butterfly Honey Pork Fillets Recipe | Allrecipes image

Great new way to prepare butterflied pork chops!

Number Of Ingredients 4

4 pork chops
4 teaspoons honey
½ cup Worcestershire sauce
ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a shallow glass dish or bowl, mix together honey and Worcestershire sauce. Add pork chops and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for no more than 4 hours to marinate.
  • Lightly oil grill and preheat to medium low.
  • Remove pork chops from marinade. Season with pepper to taste and grill for 35 to 40 minutes, turning often.

"My Mother in Law was from Illinois. When she cooked, she could really cook! Being from the south, I had only had pork chops fried in a skillet. This is her recipe."

Vegetable oil
4 Boneless Butterflied Pork Chops or pork loin steak
Salt
Pepper
Water
3 tablespoons Flour

Steps:

  • "Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large cast iron skillet, preferably with tall sides, heat a small amount of vegetable oil over medium high heat. Add the pork chops that you have seasoned with salt and pepper. Brown on both sides for 7 minutes per side. Add water to about 3/4 the way up the sides of the pork. Cover tightly with lid and place in a 350 degree oven for about an hour. (This is called braizing) Remove meat, set aside and keep warm. Heat the skillet with the remaining water and drippings to a boil. Mix the flour and a little water in a container to make a slurry. Add to the boiling drippings and stir. When it comes back to a boil, add more water if necessary to thin gravy. Add salt and pepper to taste. Simmer 5 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes."

Cover and simmer for 13-15 minutes or until apple rings and sweet potatoes are tender and meat is no longer pink., With a slotted spoon, remove the pork chops, sweet potatoes and apple to serving plates; keep warm. , Combine cornstarch and remaining apple juice until smooth. Gradually stir into pan juices. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with pork chops, sweet potatoes and apple.
