- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x 13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, cream the white sugar and shortening together. Stir in the molasses and honey. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves; add to the creamed mixture and mix until well blended. Finally, stir in the raisins.
- Press the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, bars should turn golden brown. Top will appear smooth and dry to the touch.
- Meanwhile ... make the icing. In a smaller bowl, stir the confectioners' sugar together with the milk and vanilla. Drizzle over the spice bars while they are still warm. Allow cookies to cool before cutting.

- In a large bowl, combine butter, 1 cup sugar and molasses. Beat in egg until smooth. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt; stir into the molasses mixture. , Spread into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned (do not overbake). Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

- Combine raisins and water in medium saucepan and bring to a boil; remove from heat. Stir in oil and cool to lukewarm (you can speed this up by chilling in refrigerator or placing pan in large bowl of ice water.) Stir in sugar and egg. In large bowl stir together the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves and walnuts. Add raisin mixture and stir just enough to incorporate ingredients well. Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees 20 minutes or until done. When cool, cut into 24 bars or squares. Before serving dust top lightly with powdered sugar.
