Yield 1

Number Of Ingredients 5

Hojicha Loose Leaf Tea - My Green Tea Kuki Hojicha Loose Leaf Tea or ShiZen Houjicha Loose Leaf - 2 tablespoons
Water 1.5 cup
Coffeemate or non-dairy creamer - 4 teaspoons
Black sugar - Hsin Tun Yang Black Sugar or Guanxi Specialty Black Sugar - 5 teaspoons
Ice (Optional)

Steps:

  • Bring water to a boil.
  • Using a french press, tea pot, or tea infuser, brew the tea with water for 4 minutes. If you don’t have a french press or tea infuser, brew the tea directly in a pitcher and filter with a sieve or coffee filter.
  • Remove the tea and add Coffee-Mate and sugar.
  • Stir well and serve.
  • We like to have this drink as a warm latte, but you can make this a cold bubble milk tea if that’s what your heart desires! Cold optional:
  • Leave to cool, or pop the pitcher into the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
  • Scoop half a cup of ice into a martini shaker. Crushed ice is great, but cubed works fine too.
  • Pour the mixture into the shaker, put the cap back on, and shake, shake, shake! 10 seconds will do.
  • Filter the drink into a serving glass, and utilize half of the remaining ice from the shaker in the drink.

BOBA MILK TEA RECIPE BY TASTY
This classic boba milk tea was inspired by my experiences walking around Taiwan. Every cup of boba milk tea had this signature condensed milk flavor that fused perfectly with the concentrated black tea. A lot of stands also use whole milk, so if you’re not a fan of condensed milk, whole milk will also give you an authentic taste of Taiwanese Boba Milk Tea! This drink is a thirst-quencher with a great caffeine kick. If you prefer your drinks to be less sweet, reduce the amount of brown sugar syrup or condensed milk during assembly. Don’t have muscovado sugar? Swap it out for brown sugar!
