Steps:
- 1.
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Remove all packaging material from ham. Discard glaze packet.
- 2.
Line a baking pan with 2 large pieces of foil (24 inches long for a half ham and 36 inches long with a whole ham), making an X with the pieces of foil. Place ham on its side in the center of the foil. Wrap ham tightly and place in baking pan.
- 3.
Bake until ham reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees, approximately 15 to 17 minutes per pound. Estimated heating time for half a ham, 2 to 2-1/4 hours and for a whole ham, 3 to 3-1/4 hours.
- 4.
While ham is baking, toast pecans by placing pecan pieces on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on HIGH for 1 minute. Stir pecan pieces and continue to heat on HIGH at 30-second increments, stirring and checking after each 30 seconds, until slightly browned.
- 5.
For glaze, combine maple syrup and orange marmalade in a small saucepan. Heat on medium high heat, stirring often, until bubbly. Whisk in butter until smooth. Stir in toasted pecans.
- 6.
In the last 15 minutes of baking, uncover the ham from the foil and baste ham with glaze. Leave ham uncovered for remaining baking time. Heat any remaining glaze and serve with ham.

MAPLE-PECAN GLAZED HAM RECIPE: HOW TO MAKE IT
Maple syrup is reduced to concentrate its lovely flavor. Then it is spiced up to create a delicious glaze for ham, which browns up to a rich color. It is a wonderful treatment from the usual pineapple and brown sugar glaze.—Nancy Mueller, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, pecans, butter, and five-spice powder to create a fine, crumbly mixture. Using your hands, rub mixture onto ham. In the bottom of a heavy roasting pan, scatter onions; then add 2 cups water. Place ham atop bed of onions and roast until glaze is glistening and deep brown, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours, checking occasionally to make sure water hasn't evaporated (add 1/4 to 1/2 cup more, as needed). Slice ham and top with pan juices, including onions. If sauce is too thin, pour liquid into a medium saucepan over medium-high heat and reduce until desired consistency is achieved.
