Take your sandwich to the next by slathering rich, grilled garlic on your bread.

Number Of Ingredients 3

6 heads garlic, sliced in half crosswise
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Heat grill. Drizzle garlic with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place cut side down on a large piece of aluminum foil, and place on grill. Cook until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Turn garlic, and fold foil to enclose tightly.
  • Continue cooking until cloves are soft, 15 to 20 minutes, checking often and turning to prevent burning. Remove from grill; let cool slightly. Remove from foil, and place on a serving platter.

10 garlic cloves
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
4 boneless beef strip steaks or ribeye steaks (1 inch thick and 8 ounces each)

Steps:

  • With a mortar and pestle, crush garlic cloves with salt and pepper. Stir in oil, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce., Grill steaks, covered, over medium heat 5-7 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°). Brush generously with garlic mixture during the last 4 minutes of cooking.
