Easy to put together and so delicious, this 5-ingredient recipe will take care of you. Just a little bit of prep and you can bang it in the oven, letting it do all the hard work for you. What you end up with is a beautifully scruffy, humble combo that’s all about flavour, and is guaranteed to make you smile.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC/350ºF/gas 4. Place a large non-stick ovenproof frying pan on a medium-high heat.
- Peel the onions, cut into quarters and quickly break apart into petals directly into the pan, tossing regularly, then add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of sea salt and black pepper. Quarter and core the apples, then toss into the pan.
- Use a speed-peeler to peel the parsnips into long strips.
- Stir 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar into the frying pan, then pile the parsnip strips on top of the apples and onions.
- Lay the sausages on top, then drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and add a pinch of black pepper from a height.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then drizzle over the honey and return to the oven for 5 minutes, or until golden and delicious.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and cinnamon. Pour over apples in crust. Sprinkle lemon juice on top.
- Cut 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, and 1/2 cup butter or margarine together, and top pie with the mixture.
- Take two 15 inch pieces of parchment paper and enclose pie; fold edges up 3 times. Place on a baking sheet.
- Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove from oven, split parchment open and cool pie on wire rack. DO NOT open parchment covering while baking! Serve warm, or at room temperature.

If it is not available in your part of the world, use regular brown sugar and make sure it is broken up, free of clumps. Macintosh or Granny Smith apples are the best choices for apple pie because they are the least mushy apples.

- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with a fork, then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Gently fold dry and wet ingredients together until just combined (do not over mix.) Fold in the apples. Add enough apples to make a very chunky batter. You want the apples to shine though! Heat a couple of inches of canola oil in a dutch oven over medium heat. When it gets hot (about 350 degrees), drop a little drop of batter into the oil. If it sizzles immediately and rises to the top, the oil is ready; if it burns quickly, turn down the heat. Drop 1 tablespoon of batter into the hot oil, six or eight at a time. Sometimes they'll flip over by themselves; sometimes you have to flip them. Just watch them and make sure they don't get too brown, but cook them long enough to make sure the batter's cooked through, about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes total. Repeat with the remaining batter. Remove fritters and drain on a paper towel. For the glaze (if using): In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, salt, vanilla extract and whole milk. Dust the fritters very generously with powdered sugar, or dip fritters in the light doughnut glaze. Serve warm!
