I've seen recipes that call for braising stews and such on stove tops or ovens and while ovens seem more convenient and even (heat from all sides), which is really more energy efficient? I'm sure some of that depends on the actual appliance, but I would think keeping an oven on for 2 hours vs. the burner would use more gas in my case.
