Provided by Mandy Rivers | South Your Mouth

Total Time 30 minutes

Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 20 minutes

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 scant cups Bisquick baking mix
1 pound pork sausage at room temperature (I use ‘hot’)
16 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (4 cups)
1/4 cup chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a stand mixer then mix at low speed using the paddle attachment (or mix by hand) until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  • Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and place on a baking sheet one inch apart. I used my handy-dandy cookie scoop to make quick work out of portioning these.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom.

Bring the liquid up to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours, or until the pork and liver are tender. Remove from the heat and drain, reserving 1 1/2 cups of the broth. Using a meat grinder with a 1/4-inch die, grind the pork mixture. 1/2 cup of the parsley, and 1/2 cup of the green onions, together. Turn the mixture into a mixing bowl.
