Self-Rising Biscuits Recipe - BettyCrocker.com image

Three ingredients and 30 minutes are all you need to have piping hot homemade biscuits.

2 cups Gold Medal™ self-rising flour
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 450°F. Lightly grease cookie sheet with shortening or cooking spray. Place flour in large bowl. Cut in shortening, using pastry blender (or pulling 2 table knives through ingredients in opposite directions), until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk; stir with fork until soft dough forms and mixture begins to pull away from sides of bowl.
  • On lightly floured surface, knead dough just until smooth. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with floured 2-inch round cutter. Place biscuits with sides touching on cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.

2 large eggs, (room temperature)
1 cup creamy peanut butter
¾ cup (150g) light brown sugar, (packed)
¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¾ cup old fashioned oats
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup mini semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the eggs, peanut butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla. Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon to mix everything together.
  • Mix in the oats, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the chocolate chips and mix well.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for 1-3 hours.
  • After chilling the dough, preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Use a heaping tablespoon of the cookie dough to portion cookies and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Leave about 2 inches between each cookie.
  • Bake for 8 minutes, or until edges are slightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool.
