Glazed Peach Pie Recipe: How to Make It image

This is my father's favorite peach recipe because it tastes just like fresh peaches. It's absolutely perfect for a cool summer treat!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
Dash salt
Dash ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2-1/2 cups pureed peeled fresh peaches
3-1/2 cups sliced peeled fresh peaches
1 pie pastry (9 inches), baked

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and nutmeg. Stir in water, lemon juice and pureed peaches. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes or until mixture is thickened. Pour all but 1/2 cup glaze into the pie shell. Top with sliced peaches and brush with reserved glaze. Chill for at least 3 hours.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1?½ cups white sugar
¼ cup cornstarch
2 cups water
1 (3 ounce) package peach flavored Jell-O® mix
4 cups fresh peaches - peeled, pitted, and sliced
2 (9 inch) pie shells, baked

Steps:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and cornstarch. Add water and bring to a boil. Continue to boil or 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the peach gelatin mix. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with the gelatin mixture. Gently stir until peach slices are coated with gelatin. Pour into baked pie shells. Refrigerate until set.
