2 tomatoes
2 oz carrot
2 oz seafood mushroom
2 oz king oyster mushroom
3 pieces shiitake mushroom
0.25 oz dried wood ear mushroom
2 egg
1 oz red bell pepper
2 pieces green onion
2 pieces dried chili peppers
14 oz tofu
5 cups water
2 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp white pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp light soy sauce
0.5 tbsp dark soy sauce
3 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
sesame oil
1 tbsp corn oil

Steps:

  • We don't really emphasize it in this specific video, but my dad is really big on washing his vegetables. So, wash them.
  • In a bowl, mix together cornstarch and water? with a spoon until it becomes an even slurry.
  • Set the stove to its highest heat setting, and start to heat up the wok.
  • Cook the diced tomatoes for 30-60 seconds, then add our boiled water.
  • Cover the wok with a lid. My dad opted for a smaller lid, which is supposed to help the wok come to a boil more quickly.
  • Once the wok is boiling, we'll uncover the lid and add more character to our soup.
  • Almost done! Turn off the heat and transfer the soup into a bowl. Garnish with the minced green onions.

1) 3 Glasses of chicken stock set aside 1 cup 2) Cooked Chicken: 1 Cup 3) Finely Sliced Spring Onions: 1 Cup 4) Finely Sliced Cabbage: 1 Cup 5) 2 Finely Sliced Carrots 6) 2 Finely Sliced Capsicums 7) Bean Sprouts: 1 Cup 8) 1/2 Teaspoon White pepper 9) 1/2 Teaspoon Black pepper 10) 1 Teaspoon Sugar 11) 1 Beaten Egg 12) 1 Tablespoon White Flour/Chicken Stock Cube Mix 13) 2 Tablespoons Corn Flour 14) Salt to Taste 15) 3 Tablespoons Soya Sauce 16) 2 Tablespoons White Vinegar 17) 1 Tablespoon Chilli Sauce 18) Sesame Seed Oil: Few Drops 19) 3 Tablespoons Oil

Steps:

  • 1. Store spring onions, corn flour and bean sprouts aside until cooking is complete. 2. Mix all other ingredients including vegetables, spices, sauces, stock and vinegar and cook on low flame. 3. Add chicken when it gets boiled. 4. Cook for five minutes, then dissolve the corn flour in a cup of stock and then add to the soup. 5. Keep stirring the soup with a wooden ladle until it is thickened. 6. Add beaten eggs and stir to mix. 7. Heat up before serving the soup, add sesame seed oil, spring onions and bean sprouts. 8. Enjoy your hot and sour soup!
