Parmesan Cheese Toasts make the ideal accompaniment to your favorite soup. We like the hit of freshly ground pepper to the toast.

Yield Serves 6 (serving size: 1 piece)

Number Of Ingredients 4

6 ounces French bread baguette
6 teaspoons butter
1 ounce shaved fresh Parmesan cheese
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat broiler. Cut baguette in half lengthwise; cut each half into thirds. Spread cut side of each piece with 1 teaspoon butter; sprinkle evenly with shaved fresh Parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper. Arrange pieces, cut sides up, on a baking sheet. Broil 2 minutes or until cheese melts.

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Arrange bread on baking sheet. Rub bread with garlic; drizzle with oil. Sprinkle cheese over.
  • Sprinkle with fleur de sel. Bake until edges are lightly browned, about 12 minutes.
