Yield Makes 1 loaf

Number Of Ingredients 9

Nonstick vegetable oil spray
2 cups all purpose flour
5 tablespoons sugar, divided
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

At the other end of the spectrum is Americanized Irish soda bread, a white, sweet, cake-like confection filled with raisins or currants and caraway seeds.

This soft sandwich bread, studded with raisins, is our American take on "fancy" Irish bread.
