Bacon Cheeseburger Rolls Recipe: How to Make It image

My husband and I both love these cheeseburger rolls. I often serve them with broccoli and cheese. They must be good because this recipe won the first-place prize at the Iowa State Fair! —Jessica Cain, Des Moines, Iowa

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 pound ground beef
6 bacon strips, diced
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 package (8 ounces) Velveeta, cubed
1 tube (16.3 ounces) large refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup yellow mustard
Optional: beaten egg, sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. In a large skillet, cook beef, bacon and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add cheese; cook and stir until melted. Remove from heat., Flatten biscuits into 5-in. circles; top each with 1/3 cup beef mixture. Fold sides and ends over filling and roll up. Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet. If desired, brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds., Bake until golden brown, 18-20 minutes. In a small bowl, combine ketchup and mustard; serve with roll-ups.

Number Of Ingredients 4

0.5 lbs. of lean ground beef
1 c. of Hy-Vee shredded cheddar cheese
1 (8 oz) can Hy-Vee crescent roll dough
0 Optional toppings: Hy-Vee mustard, Hy-Vee ketchup and Hy-Vee relish

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.
  • 2. In a medium skillet, cook ground beef. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheese.
  • 3. Unroll dough and separate into 4 rectangles. Place 2 rectangles on top of each other and roll into a 6-by-8-inch rectangle. Spread 1/2 of meat mixture on top of each rectangle, leaving 1-inch border along one short edge. Roll up, starting on short edge with meat, and crimp edge to hold in place. With a serrated knife, cut each roll into 4 pieces. Place on prepared baking sheet.
  • 4. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until light golden brown. Top with mustard, ketchup and relish, if desired.
