Easy Latte Recipe: How to Make It - Taste of Home image

A latte has the same ingredients as a cappuccino, but is topped with just a thin layer of foamy milk. This recipe results in a creamy coffee concoction as pleasing as any you'd find at a coffeehouse.—Taste of Home Test Kitchen

1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup hot brewed Easy Espresso

Steps:

  • Place milk in a 1-cup microwave-safe measuring cup. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 1 minute or until milk is hot and small bubbles form around edge of cup., Place a metal whisk in cup; whisk vigorously by holding whisk handle loosely between palms and quickly rubbing hands back and forth. Remove foam to a small measuring cup as it forms. Continue whisking until foam measures 1/8 to 1/4 cup; set aside., Pour Easy Espresso into a cup; pour in remaining hot milk. Spoon foam over top and serve immediately.

Miso is a salty fermented soy bean paste that combines well with sweet brown sugar and sake for a syrupy marinade that makes salmon taste so good that even salmon haters will devour it. Look for red miso in a refrigerator in your market. You can also find it in Asian markets and some health food stores. After cooking up your marinade, you should allow the salmon fillets to soak in it for up to six hours, so start this dish early in the day and plan to scarf out at dinnertime. The cool presentation starts by pressing cooked rice into a lightly greased 5-inch ramekin or small cake pan, and then turning it out onto the center of your serving plate.   • Preheat oven to 375°. Rub garlic powder over chicken; cut into 1-in. strips. Stuff chicken into manicotti shells. Spread 1 cup spaghetti sauce in each of 2 greased 13x9-in. baking dishes. , Place 8 stuffed manicotti shells in each dish. Sprinkle with sausage and mushrooms.   • In a Dutch oven, cook bacon over medium heat; drain and set aside. Discard drippings. In same pan, cook ground beef and sausage in olive oil until beef is no longer pink, breaking into crumbles.
