2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup confectioners' sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, chilled and cut into pieces
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In the bowl of a food processor, combine flour, sugar, butter, and salt; process until mixture resembles coarse meal, 15 to 20 seconds. Add eggs one at a time, and process until dough just comes together.
  • Press dough into a 10-inch round tart pan with a removable bottom. Cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
¼ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup butter (1 stick), cut into small pieces
1 egg
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a food processor fitted with a metal blade, pulse the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  • Add the butter and pulse until the dough just begins to clump together.
  • Add the egg and vanilla and continue to process until the dough comes together into a ball. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, if necessary.
  • Shape into a disk, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate at least 20 minutes or until firm. Bake the crust in a 350° F preheated oven until golden or according to your pie recipe instructions.
