Total Time 35 minutes

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 0S

Yield 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

8

ears yellow corn, in the husk

Kosher salt, for serving

6 tbsp.

salted butter, softened

1

garlic clove, chopped

2 tbsp.

chopped chives

1/4 tsp.

ground paprika

1/4 tsp.

ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over high heat (about 450° to 500°). For the grilled corn: Pull off all of the layers of the green husk, except for the two layers closest to the kernels. Pull those two layers back without detaching them. Remove all of the thin threads of silk from around the kernels of the corn. Fold the reserved pieces of husk back over the corn kernels, leaving a couple of gaps of open space.   Place the corn on the grill over direct heat, cover and cook for 5 minutes. Rotate each ear with a ¼ turn, cover and continue to cook 5 more minutes.  Repeat 1 to 2 more times to cook all sides of the corn, 15 to 20 minutes total. Corn will become bright yellow and caramelized in spots when cooked through. Remove from the heat.  For the garlic-chive butter: In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, chives, paprika, and black pepper. Mash and stir with a fork to combine.   Remove the charred husks from the corn. Spread all over with garlic-chive butter, sprinkle with salt, and serve immediately.

My version of corn on the cob from the grill. Soaking in sugar water gives the corn a very sweet taste that goes nicely with the zest of the seasonings.

Total Time 1 hours

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 45 minutes

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 fresh ears of corn
1 1/2 cups sugar (may vary depending on amount of water you use)
salt
pepper
garlic and herb seasoning (I use Mrs. Dash brand)
softened butter

Steps:

  • Soak corn overnight in a sugar water combination. Add enough water to cover and make sure to stir the water to dissolve the sugar.
  • Cover each ear with the softened butter then season to taste. Feel free to use any spice you like. The ones listed are just a starting point.
  • Wrap each piece of corn with aluminum foil and grill on the grill for about 30 minutes. Remove from foil and place directly on the grill for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Enjoy!

KITTENCAL'S MILK SOAKED GRILLED CORN IN HUSKS... DELICIOUS ...
You are in for a real treat! grilling with the husks left on insures for tender moist flavorful corn, make certain to soak the corn in the water/milk mixture for the stated amount of time, if you like a little heat then add in a small amount of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture. *NOTE* to save some time you can prepare the corn earlier in the day, tie with string and refrigerate, just soak for stated time before grilling you may wrap the corn in foil after soaking if you wish but I prefer grilling in just the husks, I find it has more flavor, also see my recipe#121897 :)
