Easy Ritz™ Toffee Recipe - BettyCrocker.com image

Deceptively simple, this salty-sweet toffee starts with a layer of Ritz™ crackers, followed by a buttery toffee and finished with chocolate and sprinkles.

Provided by Betty Crocker Kitchens

Total Time 2 hours 50 minutes

Prep Time 30 minutes

Yield 32

Number Of Ingredients 7

40 Ritz™ crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bag (11.5 oz) milk chocolate chips (2 cups)
1 tablespoon Betty Crocker™ candy sprinkles

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Line 15x10x1-inch pan with foil. Spray foil with cooking spray. Place crackers in single layer in pan.
  • In 2-quart saucepan, cook and stir butter, sugar and salt over medium heat until butter is melted. Heat to boiling, stirring frequently. Boil 7 to 9 minutes longer, stirring frequently, until light brown color. Remove from heat. Add vanilla; stir until blended. Immediately pour mixture evenly over crackers in pan; spread to cover.
  • Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until bubbly and brown in color. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of cracker mixture. Let stand 5 minutes. Spread chocolate evenly over cracker mixture. Sprinkle with candy sprinkles. Cool completely, about 2 hours or until chocolate is set. Break into pieces. Store covered in refrigerator up to 1 week.

MARYLAND CRAB BALLS - EASTERN SHORE RECIPES

Maryland Crab Balls - Eastern Shore Recipes image

Print Recipe This post may contain affiliate links so I earn a commission. Please read my disclosure for more info. Maryland Crab balls are small crab cakes that can be seen at Chesapeake Bay-themed events and fairs all summer long. They are the perfect size to pass around and enjoy. Crab ball recipes are distinctive to each family, and in ours, there is often debate about which method is superior. While some people like adding a little sweetness and flavor with minced red bell pepper and scallion, I prefer the more classic recipe of adding Ritz crackers. Every bite is a celebration! The trick to these festive little appetizers, whether you're making a dozen or a hundred, is the pre-measured mix! These scrumptious Maryland crab balls will be the hit of the party, whether it's a holiday, housewarming, cocktail, or football party. Let's get started! What you'll need to make this Maryland Crab Balls recipe These baked Maryland crab balls are a simple and enjoyable dish to prepare. The recipe is entertaining because it may be served as an appetizer or a light meal. KOREAN BARBECUE-STYLE MEATBALLS RECIPE - NYT COOKING
These meatballs, inspired by traditional Korean barbecue, bring the savory-sweet flavors of caramelized meat without the need for a grill. As the meatballs bake, the soy sauce marries the garlic and scallions to create a glaze. This meatball mixture can be made ahead and left to marinate in the fridge for 3 hours or even overnight. Use ground beef that is 85 percent lean meat, 15 percent fat, or 80 percent lean and 20 percent fat for juicier meatballs. The Ritz crackers here make for a more tender meatball, but feel free to substitute plain dry bread crumbs. The meatballs are tasty on their own, but for a simple dipping sauce, combine 2 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar. Serve over steamed rice with kimchi, or as a sandwich with mayonnaise or marinara sauce.
