- Heat oven to 350°F. Place cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased large cookie sheets.
- Bake 10 to 14 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool on cookie sheet 2 minutes; remove to cooling rack to cool completely.
- Measure 1/3 cup frosting into each of 3 small bowls. Tint 1 green and 1 red with food colors to desired colors; leave remaining bowl white. Spread about 2 teaspoons of any color (red, green or white) onto each cookie. Lightly sprinkle with sparkling sugar.
- Using photo as a guide, pipe cookie icing to make light strands, and add gumdrop pieces to make lights. Let stand until set, about 30 minutes.
