Ingredients

1 package (12 ounces) frozen fully cooked Italian meatballs
2 large sweet onions, sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
5 cups beef broth
1 bottle (12 ounces) pale ale or additional beef broth
18 slices French bread baguette (1/4 inch thick)
12 slices Muenster or cheddar cheese

Steps:

In a 4-qt. slow cooker, combine the first 9 ingredients. Cook, covered, on low until onions are tender, 8-10 hours., Ladle soup into 6 broiler-safe 16-oz. ramekins. Top each with 3 slices of bread and 2 slices of cheese. Broil 4-6 in. from heat until cheese is melted, 2-3 minutes. Serve immediately.

1 package(s) Great Value brand homestyle meatballs or your favorite brand of frozen meatballs (2 pound size)
1 package(s) dry onion soup mix
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
1 can(s) cream of onion soup
1 can(s) water
SPECIAL NOTE: YOU CAN ALSO MAKE YOUR OWN MEATBALLS, IF YOU PREFER.

Steps:

In crock pot, whisk together soup mix, soups, and water.
If using Great Value Brand Frozen Homestyle Meatballs, remove from freezer and place in slow cooker. Stir together with sauce.
Cook on low heat for about 4 to 6 hours or on high for about 2 to 3 hours, gently stirring occasionally. Serve hot.
This recipe can easily be doubled or even tripled if you need to make a lot for a party or other get together. The frozen meatballs saves time and is very easy. I prefer the Great Value (Walmart) brand over the others that I've tried. Enjoy!
