OLD BAY SEASONING(COPYCAT) RECIPE - FOOD.COM
This was adapted from Aliza Green from Field Guide to Herbs & Spices. A little different from the recipes already here. Traditionally, this seasoning is used for steamed crabs, but is now used for fish, potato salad, potatoes, and other vegetables. This would also make a great gift, along with some recipes! Enjoy!

Steps:
- Combine all ingredients in an airtight jar, mix thoroughly.
- Keep sealed until ready to use.
- To give as a gift, place in a pretty jar, along with some recipes. This would look nice in a basket, maybe with some measuring spoons, and ingredients for one of the recipes you give. Enjoy!

Steps:
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and Old Bay, then whisk in beer and egg. Let sit for 10 minutes. Dry cod with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. In a large pot over medium heat, add enough oil to come up 3 inches and heat to 375°. Working in batches, coat cod in batter then carefully drop in heated oil. Fry until golden and fish is cooked through, 5 to 6 minutes, flipping fish halfway through. Remove and place on a paper towel–lined plate and season with salt. Serve with lemon wedges.

- Mix in the chopped pickles. Refrigerate for an hour before serving. Delicious on crackers, or potato chips. If making chip dip I like to chop the pickles very finely, but for crackers a little bigger chunks is nice.

Sep 18, 2018 · Instructions. In a Dutch oven, heat oil to 350 degrees F over medium heat. About 4-5 inches deep. Wash potatoes in water. Using a Mandoline, slice potatoes to about a 1/16 inch thickness. Fry potatoes in small batches usually about 3 to 4 minutes of until golden brown. Remove using a long handled skimmer. Place on paper towel to cool and toss with Old Bay seasoning.
