We love sipping cold margaritas by the pool during the summer, but these fun cocktails get left behind in the winter for more seasonal options. Not anymore!This cranberry margarita recipe combines holiday flavor with a classic margarita for truly the best of both worlds. This cranberry margarita recipe is a festive reminder that margaritas aren't reserved for summertime. Instead of salt-lined rims, these cranberry margaritas are lined with cranberry juice and sugar to add the sweetness of the season. All you need is a blender, a strainer, and the right holiday spirit to make these cranberry margaritas. If the bar at your holiday party is usually lined with eggnog and wine, mix it up and add a little color with these fun cranberry margaritas. Your entire holiday guest list will thank you when they realize you're serving margaritas this season. This recipe serves six, so go ahead and multiply it to fit your crowd. Number Of Ingredients 12

1 tablespoon cranberry juice
Sugar
Ice
1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries*
3/4 cup tequila
3/4 cup cranberry juice
3/4 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 cup orange liqueur (such as Triple Sec)
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups chilled club soda
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
Garnishes: whole cranberries, lime peel strips

Steps:

  • Dip rims of 6 (8-oz.) glasses in 1 Tbsp. cranberry juice; dip rims in sugar to coat. Fill glasses with ice. Process cranberries, tequila, 3/4 cup cranberry juice, lime juice, orange liqueur, and 1/3 cup sugar in a blender 30 seconds. Pour mixture through a fine wire-mesh strainer into a large pitcher. Stir in chilled club soda and orange juice. Pour into prepared glasses. Garnish, if desired.
