Number Of Ingredients 9

2 large russet potatoes
4 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp parsley
Salt & pepper to taste
3 strips of bacon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Wash, peel, and dice potatoes into bite sized pieces.
  • Heat cast iron over medium heat and add the butter.
  • Place potatoes in a bowl and toss with olive oil and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Season with garlic powder, paprika, parsley, and salt & pepper.
  • Chop up the bacon and add it to the cast iron along with the potatoes.
  • Cook for 10 minutes, tossing occasionally.
  • Place the cast iron in the oven and roast for 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender and golden brown and the bacon is cooked.

Green beans are sauteed until crisp-tender, then combined with crispy bacon in this classic vegetable side dish.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 pound bacon, chopped
1 small onion, diced
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
Salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, saute the bacon until it is cooked, but not crispy. Add the onion and garlic and continue cooking until the bacon is crispy. Transfer the bacon mixture to plate and set aside.
  • Add the green beans to the skillet, along with a tablespoon or so of the remaining bacon grease. Saute the beans until tender, about 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Return the bacon mixture to the pan and toss to mix evenly with the beans. Serve immediately.
