BAILEY’S IRISH CREAM SCONES - FREE ONLINE RECIPES AND VIDEOS

Bailey’s Irish Cream Scones - Free Online Recipes And Videos image

Looking to start off your St. Patrick's Day the right way? Well do it with Bailey's! This easy to make scone recipe only takes a few minutes to make and even less to devour. Bailey's in your scones and then Bailey's in your coffee and you're off to a great St. Patrick's day!

Provided by Blakely Trettenero

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 tablespoons Bailey's Irish Cream
1 egg (for egg wash)
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon Bailey's Irish Cream (maybe a little more if needed)

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F
  • In a bowl whisk together the all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined
  • Add in the butter and with your hands rub the butter and flour between your hands, making sure there are not large pieces of butter left. You can also use a pastry cutter!
  • Add in the milk and Bailey's and stir until well combined. The dough will feel wet
  • Pour out the batter onto a prepared baking sheet
  • Wash and dry your hands and rub them with flour. Use your hands to pat down the dough and form it into an even circle
  • Take knife, rub it with flour so it doesn't stick, and cut the dough into 6 even(ish) wedges
  • Brush the top with the egg and sprinkle the top with sugar
  • Put into the preheated oven and let it bake for 12 minutes, or until a beautiful light golden brown
  • Once cooked, take it out of the oven and let them cool slightly while you make the glaze
  • In a bowl add the powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of Bailey's. Mix together until combined. If the glaze appears too thick add 1 teaspoon more of Bailey's at a time and if they glaze appears too runny add a little more powdered sugar. You want to be able to drizzle the glaze on and it not run off
  • That's it! The perfect St. Patrick's day treat to get the day started

IRISH CREAM TOFFEE SCONES | JUST A PINCH RECIPES

Irish Cream Toffee Scones | Just A Pinch Recipes image

I love scones. I love everything about them. I especially love how you can put just about any combo of flavors together and get a delicious flavor. I'm sure my Irish ancestors would thrash me for combining Irish Cream and English Toffee but honestly the taste is too wonderful to quibble over! I know I'll be enjoying these on St. Patrick's Day and maybe even on St. George's Day! (They freeze well!)

  • Bake until scones are golden brown, 25-30 minutes. Meanwhile, melt remaining 4 Tbsp. butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. When butter bubbles, remove from heat and skim off foam from surface. As soon as the scones come out of the oven, lightly brush tops with clarified butter, leaving behind white solids in bottom of saucepan. Cool scones on sheet on a wire rack and serve hot, warm, or room temperature.
