- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Saute garlic 1 minute. Place fish over garlic, cover and cook over low heat 3 minutes. Carefully turn fish; sprinkle with onions. Cover and continue to cook until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 2-3 minutes. Squeeze lemon over fish. Serve immediately.

This baked lemon butter fish is amazing! This is my favorite way to cook tilapia or other white fish! Super easy to make and so flavorful with lemon garlic butter sauce!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 425F. Spray a non-stick 9x13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a bowl, mix together melted butter and minced garlic. Rub the fish with garlic butter mixture all over, so all the fish is coated with it.
- Put the fish in a baking dish in a single layer.
- Squeeze 1 lemon over the fish.
- Slice the second lemon and arrange the lemon slices on top of the fish fillets.
- Put the fish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Take the baked fish out of the oven and sprinkle with fresh dill or parsley.

I tasted the butter basted fish with garlic and thyme and it definitely needed lemon when finished. I would suggest adding it to the butter sauce while the pan is still hot and prior to drizzling the sauce over the fish.
