Total Time 2 hours 0 minutes

Prep Time 30 minutes

Cook Time 30 minutes

Yield 1 loaf

Number Of Ingredients 10

4 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 tablespoon non-iodized salt
¾ cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
3 tablespoons olive oil
5 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup pitted Kalamata olives, chopped
1 tablespoon cornmeal

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl dissolve sugar in 1/2 cup warm water. To proof yeast, stir in yeast and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes in a warm place.
  • Preheat oven to 105 degree F (40 degrees C). Warm an oven-safe bowl in the oven.
  • Place flour in bowl of food processor. Add salt and pulse for a few seconds.
  • Start food processor. Pour proofed yeast into flour through hole. Immediately add the additional 3/4 cup warm water, then the olive oil. Process for about 1 minute or until dough ball cleans the sides of the processor bowl. If dough is too wet add a little flour through the top while processing, or if too dry, add a little more water.
  • Turn off food processor. Remove lid and transfer dough to the heated bowl. Cover with a plate or plastic wrap.
  • Let rise for a half hour in a warm place, like the lukewarm oven.
  • In a small bowl, combine minced garlic and chopped olives. Set aside.
  • Once dough has risen, transfer dough to a lightly floured board. Make an indentation in the dough and place olive mixture inside. Knead dough 10 times. Bulk of mixture should remain in middle of dough. Form dough into a log or round loaf shape.
  • Grease a pie pan (for a round loaf) or a baking sheet (for a log) and dust with cornmeal. Place loaf on prepared pan, cover with greased plastic wrap, and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bake bread in preheated oven until browned and loaf sounds hollow when tapped, about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.

OLIVE OIL AND PARMESAN GARLIC BREAD LOW FAT RECIPE - FOOD.COM

Olive Oil and Parmesan Garlic Bread low Fat Recipe - Food.com image

This is my own creation on garlic bread because I was tired of recipe's that had too much butter on them and were not quite as healthy. With the seasonings and Parmesan cheese you don't even miss the butter and in fact, I have people rave about this bread all the time! In a pinch I will use the Pepperidge farm "Hot N Crusty Bread" but prefer to get straight from a bakery fresh bread either French baguette or a Rustic Italian.

Total Time 20 minutes

Prep Time 5 minutes

Cook Time 15 minutes

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 loaf Italian bread or 1 loaf French bread
1/3-1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt (to taste)
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon Emeril's Original Essence
1/4-1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/4 cup parmesan cheese (Lowfat if that's your desire)

Steps:

  • Split loaf lengthwise with a serrated knife AND PREHEAT OVEN to 425 degrees.
  • Brush both halves with olive oil till well coated.
  • Sprinkle with salt.
  • Sprinkle with garlic powder.
  • Sprinkle with the rest of the seasonings.
  • Spread 1 tsp of minced garlic per half of loaf.
  • Finally sprinkle both halves with Parmesan and bake for 10-15 minutes until bread is fragrant and the edges are starting to lightly brown.

  • "SOURCE: The Ultimate Bread Machine Cookbook by Tom Lacalamita, copyright 1993, ISBN #0-671-88023-3. Formatted into MM by Ursula R. Taylor . In ancient Greek mythology Zeus uses the olive branch as a symbol of live. This association could not be more appropriate, since olive oil is a natural product of the earth with many nutritive properties. This fragrant breadd, made from garlic-infused olive oil, is delicious when lightly toasted, covered with sun-ripened tomatoes and basil and drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil . My recipe for galic olive oil follows but, if you don;t have the time, it is available at certain supermarkets or specialty food stores. If making the garlic olive at home, do so so the day before you plan to make this bread, since the garlic should steep in the oil for at least 6 hours before using. All ingredients must be at toom temperature, unless otherwise noted. Add ingredients in the order specified in your bread machine owners manual. Set bread machine on the basic/standard bread making setting. Select medium or normal baking cycle. The programmable timer can be used, if desired. NOTE: To make the garlic olive oil, heat the extra-virgin olive oil in a small, heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat. When the oil begins to smoke, remove from heat immediately and let cool for 10 minutes. Add the prepared garlic cloves. Let st4eep for at least six hours at room temperature. Remove garlic cloves from oil and discard. Store any unused garlic oil in the refrigerator for up to seven days. SCRUMPTIOUS GARLIC BREAD | JAMIE OLIVER RECIPES
Who doesn’t love garlic bread? And this tear and share style is always a winner. I’ve written the recipe for 12, because it’s an easier quantity of dough to work with. What I like to do is make up both trays of bread, then whack one in the freezer, ready to bake another day – you won’t regret it.

  • This recipe works great as a stand-alone dish, but also as a component in Jamie’s Christmas Party from Together – see the full collection of menus here. GET AHEAD You can do this on the day, if you prefer. Pour 325ml of tepid water into a large bowl. Add the yeast and mix with a fork for 2 minutes. Pour in the flour and a good pinch of sea salt, then use a fork to mix until you can’t move it any more. Now, get your clean hands in there and bring it together as a ball of dough, adding more flour, if needed, to stop your hands and the dough sticking. Knead on a flour-dusted surface for 5 minutes, or until silky and elastic. Shape into a rough ball, place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean, damp tea towel, and prove in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size. Meanwhile, tear the bread into a blender and blitz into crumbs. Rub two 20cm x 30cm trays with olive oil, then evenly scatter over the breadcrumbs. Tear the top leafy half of the parsley into the blender. Peel and add the garlic, then blitz until fine. Squeeze in the lemon juice, add the cream cheese, blitz again until smooth, then season to perfection, tasting and tweaking. Knock the air out of the dough by punching it with your fist, then divide into two. One piece at a time, pull and stretch out on an oiled surface to 30cm x 50cm. Spread over half the cream cheese mixture, leaving a 5cm border along the longer side that’s farthest away from you. Now, take your time to roll up the dough, starting in front of you, so you end up with a long Swiss roll shape. With a sharp knife, cut the roll into 18 pieces, then place in the tray, swirl-side up, arranging them fairly close together. Cover and prove in the fridge overnight (45 minutes, or until doubled in size, if making on the day). TO SERVE Preheat the oven to 220°C/425°F/gas 7. Uncover and bake on the top shelf for 20 minutes, or until golden. Drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil, to serve.

VEGAN GARLIC BREAD WITH OLIVE OIL AND HERBS | LIVING MY ...
Feb 17, 2020 · For this plant-based garlic bread recipe, I recommend using a small food processor. Butter is often used to make garlic bread, and it is easier to spread because it is thicker than oil. With a food processor, you can blend the garlic and oil together to get a thicker consistency that is easier to spread over the bread.
