Easy Air Fried Chicken Drumsticks Recipe image

These air fryer fried chicken drumsticks are crispy on the outside and so juicy and tender on the inside! They taste like real fried chicken but are healthier as they are cooked using a healthier method using less oil. These are the perfect treat for every fried chicken lover who whats to eat a bit healthier without losing flavor!

8 Chicken drumsticks
1 cup Buttermilk
1 cup Breadcrumbs
2 tbsp Olive oil
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
1/4 tsp Chili powder
1 tsp Onion powder

Steps:

  • Put chicken legs in a bowl, add buttermilk, and mix well.
  • Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
  • Combine the spices and breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl.
  • Dip chicken pieces in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Preheat at the air fryer at 400°F for 3 minutes.
  • Lightly oil the air fryer basket.
  • Put the chicken drumsticks in a single layer in the basket (don’t overcrowd the basket)
  • Use an oil mister or brush, to coat the chicken very lightly (all over) with olive oil.
  • Cook the chicken for 25 minutes.
  • Shake the basket halfway through. Apply some oil onto the chicken if necessary.
  • Check for doneness and serve.

These air-fryer shrimp are perfectly crispy and easy to make without the hassle of heating up a large pot of oil. Serve with our spicy remoulade, or substitute any of your favorite condiments for dipping.

Nonstick cooking spray
1 pound large shrimp (16/20 count), peeled and deveined, tails on 
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper 
1/2 cup all-purpose flour 
2 large eggs 
1 cup panko breadcrumbs 
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons chopped pickled jalapenos 
2 tablespoons whole grain mustard 
1 tablespoon ketchup 
1 tablespoon hot sauce 
1 scallion, thinly sliced 

Steps:

  • For the fried shrimp: Spray the basket of a 3.5-quart air fryer with cooking spray and set aside. Pat the shrimp dry between a couple paper towels, then season with a pinch of salt and a few grinds of black pepper.
  • Whisk the flour with 3/4 teaspoon salt and few grinds of pepper in a shallow bowl or baking dish. Whisk the eggs with a pinch of salt in another shallow bowl. Add the panko to a third shallow bowl. Dip a shrimp in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess, then dip in the beaten eggs. Dredge in the panko, turning until evenly coated. Transfer to a large plate or a rimmed baking sheet and repeat with the remaining shrimp. 
  • Preheat the air fryer to 385 degrees F. Working in batches, place some of the shrimp in a single layer in the fryer basket, then spray lightly with more cooking spray. Cook until the shrimp are golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway through, about 10 minutes.  
  • For the spicy remoulade sauce: Meanwhile, stir together the mayonnaise, pickled jalapenos, mustard, ketchup, hot sauce and scallion in a small bowl until smooth. Serve with the fried shrimp for dipping.

  • Trim chicken of excess fat and place in a large bowl. In a medium bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, and 2 teaspoons salt.  Pour mixture over chicken, making sure all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to overnight.  In a shallow bowl or pie dish, combine flour, remaining 1 teaspoon salt, and seasonings. Working with one at a time, remove chicken from buttermilk, shaking off excess buttermilk. Place in flour mixture, turning to coat.  Place coated chicken in basket of air fryer, working in batches as necessary to not overcrowd the basket. Cook at 400° until chicken is golden and internal temperature reaches 165°, 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.  Repeat with remaining chicken.
