This tasty treat gets crunchier, sweeter and nuttier with Fisher® Mixed Nuts in the mix. 

Provided by Fisher Nuts

Cook Time 10 minutes

Yield 20 Servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1/3 cup water
8 teaspoons butter, divided
4 cups Fisher® Mixed Nuts with Peanuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Heat sugar, corn syrup and water over medium heat, covered, to a boil. Uncover and cool until candy thermometer reaches 290°F.
  • Meanwhile grease 15 × 10 baking pan (jelly roll pan) with 2 teaspoons butter and set aside.
  • Warm mixed nuts in 2 baking pans in a 325°F oven for 10-15 minutes until warm (keep warm until ready to use).
  • Remove sugar mixture from heat and carefully add nuts, vanilla, salt and remaining butter. Quickly spread into prepared pan. Cool completely and then break into brittle.

2 cups Fisher® Chef’s Naturals Walnut Halves and Pieces
1/4 cup real maple syrup
1/4 cup karo syrup
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Line 13 x 9 inch pan with aluminum foil. Spray with non-stick cooking spray. Sprinkle evenly with walnuts.
  • In heavy bottomed saucepan, over medium heat, stir together maple and corn syrups, sugar, butter, water and vanilla until melted and creamy. Continue to gently boil and do not stir until candy thermometer reaches 300°F “hard crack”. Pour cooked sugar over nuts. Cool completely. Break into large pieces and store in an airtight container.
