1 package (16 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Ready to Bake!™ Sugar Cookie Dough (24 Count)
1 pouch (7 oz) red cookie icing
1 pouch (7 oz) green cookie icing
Assorted M&Ms® Minis® chocolate candies, as desired
Assorted holiday sprinkles and colored sugars, as desired
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups white or milk chocolate miniatures, unwrapped and cut in half, as desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Place cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased large cookie sheets.
  • Bake 10 to 14 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool on cookie sheets 2 minutes; remove to cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Using photo as a guide, pipe cookie icing onto cookie tops. Immediately add chocolate candies, sprinkles and sugars. Add peanut butter cup for ornament top. Let stand until set, about 1 hour.

24 cookies using cut-out sugar cookie dough
1 batch of royal icing, separated in the colors you want to decorate

Steps:

  • Bake the Christmas ornament cookies using the sugar cut-out cookie recipe
  • Make a batch of royal icing using the royal icing recipe
  • Separate out the royal icing into as many colors as you want to decorate with and put into piping bags
  • Outline the Christmas ornament in one color
  • Immediately flood the cookie with the same color
  • Wait 2 to 3 hours and add any decorations on top using other colors
  • Let dry for 12 hours
