This is a snack to satisfy any sweet tooth. I make this for my son and his friends in the neighborhood, and it disappears within minutes.

18 1/4 ounces of pudding-included chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, melted
1 cup evaporated milk
35 vanilla caramels, unwrapped
12 ounces miniature M&M baking bits

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 13" x 9" pan. In large bowl, combine cake mix, butter and 2/3 cup of the milk. Mix well. Spread half of batter (about 2 cups) in greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in small saucepan, heat caramels with remaining 1/3 cup milk over low heat until melted, stirring constantly.
  • Remove pan from oven, sprinkle with 1 cup of the candy-coated baking bits. Drizzle with caramel mixture. Drop remaining batter by heaping teaspoonfuls over caramel mixture. Sprinkle with remaining 2/3 cup of candy-coated baking bits.
  • Return to oven, bake at 350 degrees F for an additional 20-24 minutes or until center is set. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled. Cut into bars.

With a crust made from refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough, these bars are layered with peanuts, cereal, milk chocolate and caramel to indulge any sweet tooth.

1 roll (16.5 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
1 bag (11.5 oz) milk chocolate chips (2 cups)
1 container (18 oz) caramel apple dip (1 1/2 cups)
3 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
1 cup chopped peanuts

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In ungreased 13x9-inch pan, break up cookie dough. With floured fingers, press dough evenly in bottom of pan to form crust. (DO NOT EAT RAW COOKIE DOUGH AFTER PRESSING DOUGH IN PAN WITH FLOURED FINGERS.)
  • Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in 4-quart saucepan, cook 1 cup of the chips and 1 cup of the dip over medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in cereal and peanuts.
  • Spread cereal mixture over cooled crust. In 1-quart saucepan, heat remaining chips and dip over medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth. Spread over cereal mixture. Refrigerate until chocolate mixture is set, about 30 minutes. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 6 rows. Store tightly covered.
