Chinese BBQ Chicken Skewers Recipe - Food.com image

From Penzey's Spices submitted by Christine Simmerman. This has become my favorite bbq sauce for chicken. I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs and did not cut them in strips, just put them on the grill over indirect heat. Very moist and the flavor was wonderful!

Yield 12 skewers, 3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb chicken thigh (boneless, skinless or can use breasts )
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1 garlic clove, minced

Steps:

  • Cut the chicken pieces into long thin strips, 3-4 per piece.
  • In a large bowl or zip top bag, combine the soy sauce, ginger, hoisin sauce, white pepper, and garllic.
  • Place 2 TB of the marinade in a small covered bowl.
  • Refrigerate until it is time to cook the chicken.
  • Add the chicken to the remaining marinade in the bag, toss until well coated, push the air out of bag and seal.
  • Marinate for at least 20 minutes - a few hours is nice and overnight even better.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Remove the chicken from marinade.
  • Discard the marinade and skewer the chicken using a weaving method with the skewer.
  • Place on foil-lined cookie sheets in a single layer,.
  • Bakefor 15-25 minutes.
  • Flip halfway through and baste with the reserved marinade.
  • You can grill for approximately 10 minutes on each side instead of using the oven.

When I wanted to eat shrimps in winter, I thought of grilling unnaturally, so I made garlic grilled shrimps. Although they did not have the natural flavor of charcoal grilling, they were better than convenience and not easy to burn. .

1 catty shrimp
50 grams garlic
20 grams shallot
1 small teaspoon salt
1 small teaspoon Salt and pepper
50 ml olive oil
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 piece lemon
1 teaspoon Crushed black pepper
1 tsp Fuel consumption
20 grams parsley

Steps:

  • After preparing the ingredients, wash all the ingredients and dry them for later use. If you don't understand the amount, please refer to the picture. Then I added it later if you don't understand the amount.
  • Quickly peel off the shells of the shrimps to ensure the freshness of the shrimps.
  • Use scissors or a knife to remove the shrimp thread, and then soak in clean water.
  • Chop the garlic into minced garlic and green onions. Take only the white onion and cut into fine pieces. Cut the parsley into small pieces.
  • Put all the seasonings in a bowl, then add garlic and green onion.
  • Then add a few drops of lemon juice to remove the fishy smell of the prawn meat and increase the fragrance and sourness.
  • Put the dried shrimp in the seasoning bowl, stir evenly with chopsticks, and put it in the refrigerator to marinate for 10-20 minutes.
  • Skewered with bamboo skewers, you can put it in a preheated oven, the baking time is 10 minutes, and the baking temperature is 180°C.
  • If you want to have more flavor, you can coat both sides of the grilled shrimp with the conditioning in the bowl during the baking process, and bake each side for 5 to 8 minutes after coating.
  • Finally, add some fragrant and delicious coriander, and the winter grilled shrimp is completed.
