WOW! I don't LIKE cream of wheat, but this is amazing! Super side dish when you're bored w/ potatoes, OR great for breakfast - texture similar to grits! Give it a try! My kids LOVE this!

Steps:
- Cook first four ingredients until thick.
- Remove from the heat.
- Stir in 1 c. parmesan cheese & 3 eggs.
- Pour into greased casserole dish.
- Let cool completely.
- Pour heavy cream on top of casserole.
- Bake 45-50 minutes @ 350 degrees.

SAVORY CREAM OF WHEAT | JUST A PINCH RECIPES
In my early 20's, I lived with some southern belles in Alaska! They were crazy for grittes with butter and cheese, but they couldn't find grittes in Alaska - so they would cook up a batch of Cream of Wheat and add butter and cheese. I loved the result and have passed it on to my husband and sons who also love this savory treat whenever they get the munchies. Give it a try and you'll agree; desperation is the true mother of invention!

Steps:
- Using a wire whip, gradually whip cereal into the boiling water. Stir constantly.
- Reduce the heat and allow to boil until thick. Only takes a few minutes.
- Add shredded cheese and butter. Any favorite cheese will do, but I prefer sharp cheddar.
- Serve immediately. Makes two medium size bowls. This recipe multiplies well 3 or 4 times the original.
