butter - 1 cup (250 g)
sugar - 1 cup
brown sugar - 1 cup
eggs - 3
vanilla - 1 essence
buttermilk - 1 1/2 cups
sour cream - 3/4 cup
coffee - 3 tbsp, boiled
flour - 2 2/3 cups
cocoa - 1 1/2 cups
salt - 1/2 tsp
baking soda - 1 tsp
for the buttercream
eggs - 9 yolks
sugar - 2 cups
butter - 2 cups (500 g)
salt - 1 pinch
puree - 1/2 cup, strawberry
vanilla - 1 essence
confectionery dye
for the ganache
chocolate - 1
cream - 1 cup (250 ml)
strawberries - 2 cups
for decoration
strawberries - several, large

Steps:

  • In a bowl, mix the brown sugar with the sugar. Once it whitens, add the butter. Separately, sift all of the dry ingredients through a sieve. To the egg mixture, add the sour cream, buttermilk and coffee , then begin to gradually add the dry ingredients.
  • Stir to a nice and fluffy homogeneous mixture. Depending on whether you want thicker or thinner layers, bake 3 or 5 layers, respectively. Bake on baking paper between 20-25 min. in a moderate oven. Leave the baked layers to cool.
  • In a bowl, beat the egg whites to fluffy snow. Carefully add the sugar . Put the bowl in a water bath, being careful not to cook the whites. Once the sugar melts, remove the bowl from the water. Begin adding the butter, while stirring nonstop. Add the rest of the ingredients and continue stirring until you get a smooth mixture.
  • Prepare the ganache by heating the cream in a water bath. Once its nearly boiling, remove it from the heat and put the crumbled chocolate in it. Stir until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  • Assembling the cake:
  • Place a cake layer. Smear it with the buttercream on top. Arrange the finely chopped strawberries . Repeat this for the rest of the cake layers. Smear the cake on all sides with the cream. Scoop a ladle of ganache and pour it in the middle of the ready cake, so that it runs haphazardly down its sides as well. Dip the remaining strawberries for decoration in the remaining ganache and arrange them on top of the cake.

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 cup non dairy amaretto flavored creamer
1 cup amaretto liqueur
3 eggs
? cup vegetable oil
1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup non dairy amaretto flavored creamer
¼ cup amaretto liqueur
2 cups heavy cream, whipped
4 (1.4 ounce) bars chocolate covered toffee bars, chopped
1 (1.5 ounce) bar chocolate candy bar, melted
½ cup sliced almonds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour three 8- inch pans.
  • Mix together the cake mix, 1 cup amaretto flavored creamer, 1 cup amaretto liqueur, eggs and oil until blended. Distribute cake batter evenly between the cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, making certain the cake layers do not overbake. Allow to cool completely before filling.
  • To make the amaretto whipped cream filling: Combine pudding mix, 1/4 cup amaretto liqueur and 1 cup amaretto flavored creamer. Set aside for 5 minutes until thickened. Fold the whipped cream into the amaretto mixture, then stir in the crushed chocolate covered toffee bars. Use to fill and frost top of the cake (do not frost sides). Drizzle cake with melted chocolate candy bar and sprinkle with sliced almonds. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
