My mom used to make this for me all the time and I always loved it. Just thought that I would share with you. Hope you enjoy! This is a great dish served with pinto beans and cornbread!

Steps:
- Make patties using ground beef and layer onto bottom of casserole dish.
- Layer cabbage, onion, celery over top of patties.
- Slice butter over top, then add salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour water over mixture, cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes to one hour, or until cabbage is tender.

- In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in salt. In a greased 2-1/2-qt. baking dish, layer half of the beef mixture, cabbage and soup. Repeat layers (dish will be full). , Cover and bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Serve with a slotted spoon.

This Runza casserole is amazing. The crescent dough that sandwiches in the casserole on the top and bottom is slightly buttery and sweet. A nice contrast with the savory meat and cabbage mixture.
