BEEF BURRITO DIP RECIPE - FOOD.COM

Beef Burrito Dip Recipe - Food.com image

Everyone loves this dip. I love it because, unlike most taco type dips, I can make it a few days ahead. I try to please everyone by using Hot Ortegas and hot sauce on one side of the 13X9 and mild everything on the other side. I stick a few red toothpicks on the hot side to "mark" it. (Or you can use jarred jalapenos and sprinkle them on last over half so they can be seen.) My family loves anything Mexican so I usually double it and wrap the leftovers in flour tortillas and throw them in the freezer. They are wonderful!

Total Time 1 hours 15 minutes

Prep Time 45 minutes

Cook Time 30 minutes

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 lbs ground beef
3 onions, chopped

1 (4 ounce) can ortega chili peppers (hot, mild or mixture)
1 lb shredded cheddar cheese
1 (16 ounce) jar taco sauce or 12 ounces salsa
1 lb tortilla chips, for scooping

  • In a 13X9 pan, spread the refried beans.

BEAN BURRITO DIP RECIPE - FOOD.COM

Bean Burrito Dip Recipe - Food.com image

Easy and delicious...this dip is always the 1st to go at parties. If you have any leftover just add chicken or steak (maybe a little salsa) with a flour tortilla and you have a great tasting burrito!

Total Time 35 minutes

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 20 minutes

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

16 ounces refried beans
15 ounces pinto beans
1 cup sour cream (more or less according to taste)
1 -1 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (again, depends on taste)
1 small onion, chopped
10 ounces Rotel tomatoes & chilies (I prefer hot)
1/2 cup canned jalapeno slices (optional)
corn chips or tortilla chips

Steps:

  • Mix refried beans, pinto beans, Rotel tomato's, cheese (I leave a little cheese to add to the top before I bake) and place in an 8x8 baking dish.
  • Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes ot until heated thru.
  • After cooling slightly, put a layer of sour cream (depending on taste, I like a little thicker layer myself) followed by the chopped onion and if you choose, the jalapeno's (I put the jalapeno's on top so people can eat around them if they want).
  • Serve with dip size Fritos or Tortilla chips.
  • (I have used this same recipe with flour tortillas for simple bean burritos at a childs birthday party. I just used mild Rotel and nixed the jalapeno's).

5 MINUTES CHIPOTLE BURRITO SAUCE RECIPE | CHEFDEHOME.COM

Sharing today, a 5-minutes magic sauce which is way more than just burrito sauce! With flavorful chipotle en adobo, earthy cumin and oregano, and healthy touch of non-fat yogurt... this sauce is my go-to condiment on a lot of fresh summer foods.

Today I'm calling is a burrito sauce... though I often serve it as dipping sauce for sweet potato fries, top on veggie burgers, and even as a creamy dressing for fresh greens salads!  if I'm lucky to save this sauce from burrito or salads, I even slather some in homemade sandwiches! I don't call it a "magic sauce" for nothing!

So, I today thought, I should share this recipe with you.

5 minute Chipotle Burrito Sauce | chefdehome.com

I love such simple and quick recipes which can be used multiple ways. Like most of my salad vinaigrette recipes, I often use for marinating meats/chickens as well. So do you?! aww.. I though I'm the only genius here ;) lol!

On a serious note, really that's what home cooking is all about... Making most of the time and food in-hand! Isn't it?

This Chipotle Burrito Sauce is also such a powerful blend of ingredients which can add flavor to anything which needs some creaminess, tang, spice and flavor! Plus, it comes together in just 5 minutes. I don't even need a blender to mix it!! Sauce ingredients are easy to find. If you are Spanish flavor fan, I bet you will have staple Mexican spices  - cumin and oregano in your pantry right now! Just getting a can of chipotle, yogurt and sour cream and you are good to serve delicious burritos with homemade burrito sauce!!

Why Chipotle in Burrito Sauce?!

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block; text-align:center;min-height: 250px;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-6316610776672658" data-ad-slot="8107393682"></ins> <script> (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); </script>

Because I'm Chipotle fan!

Chipotle adobo sauce on it's own is a very flavorful condiment. It has smoked jalapenos (the secret behind smokey flavor), vinegar, and lots of spices in adobo liquid. I always have few jars of adobo in my pantry. You know because Everything tastes batter when has kick of chipotle!! For my love of Mexican/Spanish flavors.. specially chilies.. I mostly down on my knees when I get to enjoy anything dressed in smokey chipotle or poblano chilies sauces.

To keep sauce lite and healthier, I always use combination of sour cream and non-fat Greek yogurt. In my kitchen, Greek yogurt is perfect replacement for lot of fatty-creamy-dressings...  Cooling nature of yogurt balances the spicy-hot chili of dressings. It also enhances the creamy texture of sauce, and gives sauce some body and tangy taste. Above all, health bacteria of yogurt sauce helps keep gut-healthy!

As I always say Happy Gut = Happy Immune System!

So, friends, never leave an opportunity to eat yogurt! Add it to salad dressings, smoothies, eat it with morning granola, or mix with some sour cream, add spice of chipotle and enjoy lightened-up breakfast burrito bowl!! :)

Wish you a great day ahead! -Savita
