Simple, easy to whip up in about 10 to 15 minutes, and so flavorful, this Fried Round Steak recipe is a must-try. Here's how to make the comfort food essential.

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 lb.

cube steak (round steak that's been extra tenderized)

1 c.

all-purpose flour

1 tsp.

seasoned salt

3 tsp.

ground black pepper, or to taste

salt, for seasoning meat

1/2 c.

canola oil (more if needed)

2 tbsp.

butter

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Mix together flour, seasoned salt, and pepper. Season both sides of steaks with salt and pepper. Dredge each piece in flour mixture, pressing to coat with as much flour as possible.  Add butter to pan right before frying. When butter is melted, fry pieces of steak in butter/oil mixture. Flip when sides are deep golden brown and cook about 1 minute on the other side.  Remove to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve immediately. YUM.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/4 cups Water
1 can french onion soup
1 can chicken soup
1 package Au Jus Mix
6 Cubed Steaks
1/4 cup Water
3 tbsp cornstarch

Steps:

  • Combine 1 1/4 cups water, cream of chicken soup, Au Jus mix and French onion soup together in Instant pot. Mix well.
  • Add cubed steak to the pot.
  • Attach lid and turn valve to “Sealing” position. Set MANUAL or PRESSURE COOKto 20 mins.
  • Once it beeps (notifying you that it's ready) turn valve to “venting”. This is also known as the “quick release” The steam will be very hot so be careful when doing this. Do not remove lid until the steam has fully stopped.
  • Remove lid. Remove steak from the pan. Turn OFF the instant pot.
  • In a small bowl or cup, combine ¼ cup water and cornstarch to create a “slurry”. Pour mixture into grave mixture and whisk well.
  • Put steaks back into gravy mixture. Attach lid and leave the instant pot turned off. Keep warm until ready to serve.

  • Trim off the large obvious piece of fat that runs along the side of the meat. Next, cut strips less than 1-inch wide. Rotate the meat and cut into small bite-sized pieces. If you see any more large chunks of fat, gristle or long silvery membrane, cut them off.Sprinkle generously with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper. Toss the meat around a bit to thoroughly coat with the seasonings. Next, turn on your ventilation fan overhead. Heat the skillet over medium high to high heat. As the pan heats, add about 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet. Allow the butter to melt, then brown, before you add the meat.Place some of the meat in the pan in a single layer. It should sizzle loudly when it hits the pan – if it doesn’t, the pan isn’t hot enough. Don’t stir or disrupt the meat for 30-45 seconds. You want it to sizzle and brown on one side. Scoop as many steak bites as you can with your spatula and flip them over. Repeat until all the meat is turned. Cook for an additional 30 to 45 seconds—just long enough to sear the outside of the meat but NOT cook the inside.Remove the meat to a clean plate. Add a little more butter to the pan and repeat the cooking process with the next batch just as before. Lastly, when all the meat is nicely browned and removed to the plate, pour all that browned/blackened butter all over the meat. And enjoy!
