Mummy 'Box' Brownie Bites Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: brownie mix, white chocolate chip, milk chocolate chips, candy corn

Provided by Julie Klink

Yield 45 brownie bites

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 boxes brownie mix, prepared
3 cups white chocolate chip
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 bag candy corn, for decorating

Steps:

  • Prepare 2 boxes of brownie mix according to instructions on box. Pour into a greased 9x9-inch (23x23-cm) square pan. Bake according to instructions on box.
  • Cut each tray of brownies into 25 small squares. Form each brownie square into a ball, rolling in palms until smooth.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, add the white chocolate chips and microwave in 30 second intervals until smooth, about 1 minute and 30 seconds total.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, add the milk chocolate chips and microwave in 30 second intervals until smooth, about 1 minute and 30 seconds total.
  • Turn a plastic sandwich bag inside out and hold it from the inside with one hand. Spoon ¼ of the white chocolate into the bag. Turn the bag back out making sure chocolate does not fall out the opening. Seal it closed. Cut the corner of the bag, keeping in mind the more you cut off the larger your piping hole will be. Repeat with all of the milk chocolate.
  • Coat the brownie balls in the melted white chocolate using a fork. Place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and chill until chocolate has hardened, about 20 minutes.
  • Place one of the white chocolate brownie bites onto a clean surface.
  • Cut the white tips off 2 candy corns, cut each of those tips in half, these will be your mummy’s teeth.
  • Using the milk chocolate pipe 2 dots on the upper half of the brownie bite for the eyes.
  • Using the white chocolate pipe a line for the mouth. Evenly place each candy corn piece for each tooth on the line.

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with foil liners. Place the potatoes in a pot, add enough cold water to cover and bring to a boil. Add 1 tsp salt, reduce heat and simmer until just tender, 15 to 18 minutes. Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper; stir in the bread crumbs. Add the garlic and carrot and mix to combine. Add the beef and pork and mix just until incorporated. Divide the meat mixture among the foil liners and push a tomato into the center of each one. Transfer to the oven and roast until a thermometer inserted into the meat registers 155°F, 14 to 16 minutes. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the sour cream and 1/4 tsp salt and mash until very smooth. Transfer to a pastry bag fitted with a 1/2-in. ribbon tip (Wilton 104). Transfer the meat loaves to a platter and pipe the potatoes back and forth over each top to resemble a mummy's wrapping. Place 2 peas on each for eyes.

  • In a large bowl, combine the oatmeal cookie mix, softened butter, milk, and peanut butter with a spoon or rubber spatula until a soft dough has formed. Stir in the miniature M&M’s and chocolate chips to combine; set the dough aside. Meanwhile, line a large baking sheet with foil or a silicone liner. Take a teaspoon or so of monster cookie dough and roll it into a small ball. Press two pretzels on either side of the cookie dough ball, creating a cookie dough pretzel sandwich. Place the sandwiches onto the prepared baking sheet and repeat 35 more times. Freeze the pretzel sandwiches for about 1 hour or until totally firm. Meanwhile, prepare the vanilla Candiquik according to package directions, or until smooth & melted. Using a fork, dip each pretzel sandwich into the vanilla Candiquik until coated completely. Gently lift the sandwich out of the Candiquik, allowing excess to drip off. Return the sandwich to the baking sheet and immediately attach two eyeballs. Repeat with remaining sandwiches. Once all sandwiches have been coated, take the remaining Candiquik and pour it into a sandwich-sized resealable plastic bag. Seal out the air and snip off a corner of the bag. Begin drizzling the Candiquik over the pretzel bites to create the mummy “bandages.” Try to avoid getting the drizzle on their eyes, but do make sure to get the tops of their heads. Allow the Candiquik to dry before serving!
