- Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, beat the butter, oil and sugars. Beat in eggs until well blended. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; gradually add to creamed mixture., Drop by small teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake until lightly browned, 8-10 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the milk, butter, mashed potatoes, sugar, salt, whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a firm dough. , Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a bowl coated with cooking spray, turning once to coat the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Punch down dough and turn onto a floured surface; shape into a loaf. Place in a 9x5-in. loaf pan coated with cooking spray. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. , Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan to wire rack to cool.
