These tasty wontons feature ground turkey and a delicious sauce, and they only take 20 minutes to make.

1/2 lb (225 g) 93% lean ground turkey
1 egg
2 tbsp (30 mL) soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp (22 mL) Asian Seasoning Mix
1 tbsp (15 mL) plain dry bread crumbs
1 garlic clove, pressed
16 square wonton skins
1/4 cup (60 mL) rice vinegar
2 tbsp (30 mL) soy sauce
1 tbsp (15 mL) Asian Seasoning Mix

Steps:

  • For the wontons, combine the turkey, egg, soy sauce, seasoning mix, breadcrumbs, and garlic in a large bowl. Mix until incorporated.Place the wonton wrappers on a cutting board. Place a small rounded scoop of the turkey mixture into the center of each wonton. Lightly brush the outer edges of each wonton with water. Bring the corners of each wonton up toward the center and pinch the corners to seal. Place the wontons into the steamer.Bring 2 cups (500 mL) of water to a boil in the Nonstick Saute & Steam Pan. Reduce the heat to a simmer and place the steamer onto the pan. Cover and cook the wontons for 5–7 minutes, or until the center of each wonton reaches 160°F (71°C).Meanwhile, for the sauce, combine all the ingredients in a small bowl. Serve the wontons with the sauce.

12 Spring roll dough sheet (frozen)
10 grams shiitake mushrooms (dried)
0.5 bunch scallions
200 grams Chicken breasts
150 grams Corn kernel
1 teaspoon ginger (freshly grated)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
cayenne pepper
1 egg white

Steps:

  • Thaw the dough sheets.
  • Soak the shiitake mushrooms according to the package directions. Rinse and trim scallions and cut into thin rings.
  • Rinse the chicken, pat dry, and finely chop. Remove corn kernels from the cob. Drain mushrooms, chop finely and mix with the chicken, corn, and scallions. Season with ginger, soy sauce, and cayenne pepper. Cut tops of scallions into thin strips. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling on each sheet of dough. Brush the edges of the dough with egg white and gather upwards to make a purse. Secure by tying a strip of scallion around the top. Set the wontons in a bamboo steamer and steam over a pot or wok of boiling water, covered for about 10-12 minutes. Serve alongside your favorite Asian dipping sauces.
