6 bone-in skinless chicken thighs, fat removed
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons orange juice
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 clove minced garlic
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Arrange chicken in a single layer in a glass baking dish.
  • Combine oil, orange juice, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and garlic.
  • Pour over chicken.
  • Bake, uncovered, 45 minutes to 1 hour, until chicken is done.
  • Transfer chicken to a serving platter.
  • Combine cornstarch and water.
  • Add to juices in baking dish.
  • Stir to mix.
  • Return to oven.
  • Cook until thickened and bubbly, stirring occasionally.
  • Spoon over chicken.

1 1/2 lb Skinless boneless chicken
1 tb Orange juice or water
2 tb Rice wine vinegar or cider
2 tb Soy sauce low sodium
1 ts Sesame oil toasted
1/2 ts Garlic minced
1 ts Cornstarch
1 ts Honey

Steps:

  • "Preheat oven to 375. Rinse chicken and pat dry. Arrange in a single layer in a glass baking dish. Set aside. In a small bowl, stir together soy sauce, vinegar, sherry, sesame oil, honey and garlic. Pour over chicken. Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes or until chicken is tender and no longer pink. remove chicken from baking dish and keep warm. Transfer sauce to a small saucepan In small bow., stir together orange juice and cornstarch. Add to sauce. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly, about 3 minutes.   • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add chicken; cook until golden brown, 8-10 minutes on each side. In a small bowl, whisk water, brown sugar, orange juice, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, pepper flakes and five-spice powder. Pour over chicken. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until chicken is tender, 30-35 minutes, turning chicken occasionally., In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water until smooth; stir into pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until sauce is thickened, about 1 minute. Sprinkle with green onions. If desired, serve with rice.
    Freeze option: Cool chicken. Freeze in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat slowly in a covered skillet until a thermometer inserted in chicken reads 165°, stirring occasionally and adding a little water if necessary.
