½ cup Tamarind
100 g Sugar
1 pinch Salt
Chili Powder

Steps:

  • Take out any hard stuff that you will find in the tamarind, like its seeds or some particles.
  • Now cut the tamarind into pieces using your hand or food processor.
  • Just grind it coarsely, no need to make a very smooth paste.
  • Take a bowl and put tamarind into it along with all the other ingredients present.
  • Refrigerate this mixture for 10- 15 minutes so that it gets a proper texture and becomes easy to hold.
  • Now cut the balls out of this paste and roll them with your hands.
  • Put some sugar on them to coat them properly with it.

10-20 fresh tamarind pods
5 Tablespoons coarse sugar
1 Tablespoon ground chili
1 Tablespoon salt

Steps:

  • Remove the tamarind fruit from its shell and devein it. Then break the tamarind into bite-sized pieces, with one seed in each piece, and gently mold into a ball. If you prefer, you can also keep the tamarind fruit intact.
  • Combine the sugar, salt, and ground chili in a small bowl. Place the tamarind balls into this mixture and roll around until all of the balls are evenly coated.
  • You can eat the tamarind candy right away, but they're even better if they have a day or two to sit and allow the flavors to meld together.
