Steps:
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt. Stir in butter and milk just until moistened. Drop batter on a lightly greased cookie sheet by the tablespoon.
- Bake in preheated oven until golden on the edges, about 8 to 12 minutes. Serve warm.

- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease 2 cookie sheets. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt. With pastry blender or two knives used scissor-fashion, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk and vanilla extract; quickly mix until just combined. Drop dough by 1/4 cups, 2 inches apart, onto cookie sheets to make 16 biscuits. Place cookie sheets on 2 oven racks; bake biscuits 12 to 15 minutes until golden, rotating cookie sheets between upper and lower racks half-way through baking time. Serve warm. Or, if not serving right away, cool biscuits on wire rack. Store in tightly covered container to reheat before serving. Makes 16.

Scoop the dough into 8 rough mounds (about 1/3-cup each) and place them on the prepared sheets. Bake the biscuits until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached, about 20 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

- "Preheat oven to 450. Cover baking sheet with no-stick foil or spray with no-stick cooking spray. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until crumbs are the size of peas. Blend in just enough milk with a fork until dough leaves sides of bowl. If needed, add more milk to form a soft dough. Gently stir in blueberries. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
