SUGAR COOKIES FOR KIDS RECIPES

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
• In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
• Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

Steps:

• Place all of the cookie ingredients into a food processor and pulse until crumbly. Transfer to a lightly floured work surface and knead to form a smooth dough. If the dough is too crumbly, knead in a bit of heavy cream. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.  
• Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface to about 3-4 mm (approximately 1/8 inch) thick. Cut into various fun shapes using assorted cookie cutters. 
• Decorate the cookies with sugar pearls and M&Ms. 
• Place the cookies onto a baking pan lined with parchment paper, leaving a bit of space between each one. 
• Bake in an oven preheated to 175°C (approximately 350°F) for about 10 minutes, until golden brown. 
• Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
