JACK & SALLY SPARKLING-WINE COCKTAIL RECIPE | EATINGWELL
In this refreshing sparkling-wine cocktail, Aperol--a bright red, mildly bitter Italian aperitif--is mixed with simple syrup and fresh lemon juice. If you can't find Aperol, Campari is an ideal substitute.

Steps:
- To prepare simple syrup: Bring sugar and water to a boil in a medium saucepan, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar. Let cool for 30 minutes and then refrigerate until cold, at least 1 hour. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
- To prepare an individual cocktail: Combine 1/2 ounce of the simple syrup, lemon juice and Aperol in a champagne flute. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with an orange twist.
