- "Bring the sugar and water to a boil and turn down heat, leaving simmering on the stove top. Peel and core pears. Slice into eight wedges. In 7 wide mouth pint jars, add cinnamon red hot candies – use according to your liking. I use about 12 candies per jar. Pack jars completely full with pear wedges, leaving 1/2 inch at top of jars empty. Fill jars with simple syrup. Place jars in a hot water bath. Bring to a boil. Start timing and boil for 20 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit for 10 minutes. Remove jars and sit on counter. Make sure each jar has sealed. If there is no seal, keep unsealed jars in fridge for up to two weeks before using."

- Place popcorn in a large bowl (I used my tupperware that's a bowl make sure bowl is large enough to hold all the popcorn) set aside.
- In a non stick saucepan, combine butter, corn syrup and candies; bring to a boil over medium heat stirring constantly.
- Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour over popcorn and mix thoroughly (be careful very hot) Turn into two greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pans.
- Bake at 250 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Remove from pans and place on waxed paper to cool.
- Break apart and store in air tight containers.

- Place Red Hots in a food processor; process until fine and powdery. Add flour; pulse to combine., In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Shape into two 8-in. rolls; wrap each roll in waxed paper. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour., Preheat oven to 350°. Unwrap and cut into 1/4-in. slices. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake until edges are just lightly browned, 7-9 minutes. Cool on pans 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely., For frosting, in a small bowl, beat confectioners' sugar, butter, extract, salt and enough milk to reach desired consistency. Decorate cookies as desired., Freeze option: Place wrapped logs in a freezer container; freeze. To use, unwrap frozen logs and cut into slices. If necessary, let dough stand a few minutes at room temperature before cutting. Bake and decorate cookies as directed.
