Fantastic Crab Dip Recipe | Allrecipes image

This recipe can be served hot or cold with a variety of different crackers or bread. It can be placed in a loaf of hollowed out sourdough bread; the bread can be used for dipping. Don't heat dip when in the bread; bread will become soggy. Heat the dip, and then fill bread.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 green onions, chopped
6 ounces imitation crabmeat, diced
1 pinch salt
1 pinch ground black pepper

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese until soft and smooth. Blend in lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper. Mix in garlic, onions, and crab meat. Store, covered, in refrigerator until ready to use.
  • To serve warm, heat in microwave for 3 to 4 minutes.

Rich and creamy crab dip with fried wonton chips is the game day appetizer you've been looking for! Sriracha gives this dip a kick of heat while cream cheese and shredded Monterey jack cheese make this classic dip extra creamy.

1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 Tbsp. lower-sodium soy sauce
2 Tbsp.s Sriracha chile sauce
3/4 tsp. garlic powder
12 oz.s fresh jumbo lump crabmeat, drained and picked over
1/2 cup sliced scallions, plus more for garnish (from 1 bunch)
4 oz.s Monterey Jack cheese, shredded (about 1 cup), divided
Cooking spray
Vegetable oil (about 3 cups) 
24 wonton wrappers, cut in half diagonally
Kosher salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven 350°F. Whisk together cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise in a large bowl until mixture is well combined and smooth. Stir in soy sauce, Sriracha, and garlic powder. Fold in crabmeat, scallions, and 1/2 cup of the Monterey Jack cheese.
  • Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray. Spoon crab mixture into prepared baking dish. Bake in preheated oven until bubbly, about 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from oven, and immediately sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup Monterey Jack cheese. Let stand until cheese melts, about 5 minutes.
  • While crab mixture bakes, pour oil to depth of 1/2 inch in a large deep skillet, and heat over medium to 325°F. Fry wonton wrappers, in batches of 10 to 12, in hot oil until golden brown, 60 to 90 seconds. Drain wonton chips on paper towels, and sprinkle each batch with salt to taste. Serve wonton chips with hot crab dip.

  • In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sour cream; mix well. Fold in crab, cheese and onions. Cut the top third off each loaf of bread; carefully hollow out bottoms, leaving 1-in. shells. Cube removed bread and tops; set aside. Spoon crab mixture into bread bowls. Place on baking sheets. Place reserved bread cubes in a single layer around bread bowls. , Bake, uncovered, at 350° until the dip is heated through, 45-50 minutes. Garnish with green onions if desired.
