My Best Cheese Omelette Recipe - Food.com image

After countless omelettes turning into scrambled eggs...I finally mastered this egg thing. This is simple, yet delicious!

Total Time 10 minutes

Prep Time 5 minutes

Cook Time 5 minutes

Yield 1 omelette, 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 eggs
salt
pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon water
2 slices deluxe American cheese (Kraft)

Steps:

  • Melt butter in 10" non-stick pan.
  • Whip eggs and water well with fork or whip. Add salt and pepper.
  • Stir.
  • Once butter melted, add egg mixture.
  • In first 30 seconds make a few slits with spatula to allow eggs to cook in center.
  • Over MED-HI heat tilt pan back & forth so runny part of eggs cook.
  • Pan should be nice & slippery for this!
  • When almost done, tear cheese slices & place over eggs.
  • Allow cheese to melt slightly.
  • Fold half egg over the other.
  • Give about 30 seconds to set.
  • Slip egg onto plate.
  • Enjoy!

6 eggs, separated
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
? cup soft breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Steps:

  • Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Add cheese, breadcrumbs, parsley, and salt and pepper; stir well. Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until stiff but not dry; fold into yolk mixture.
  • Melt butter in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Pour in egg mixture; gently smooth surface. Cook 5 minutes or until bottom is lightly browned. Transfer omelet pan to oven; bake, uncovered, at 350° for 8 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Fold omelet in half; transfer to a warm serving plate.
