EASY AND DELICIOUS APPLE DUMPLINGS - PILLSBURY.COM
You’d be hard-pressed to find a recipe more comforting than these easy apple crescent dumplings. Made with Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls and fresh apples, every bite tastes as cozy as fall feels. Have the kids help wrap the apple slices in the crescent rolls, then bake and enjoy them together, warm from the oven (with a scoop of ice cream on top, of course!).

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
- Peel and core apples; cut into 16 slices.
- Unroll dough; separate into 16 triangles. Place 1 apple slice on shortest side of each dough triangle. Starting with shortest side of triangle, roll to opposite point, wrapping dough around apple slice; arrange in pan.
- In medium bowl, stir together melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour mixture evenly over dumplings.
- Pour soft drink in center and along edges of pan. (Do not pour on top of dumplings.)
- Bake 33 to 36 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 15 minutes.

- Heat 1 tbsp of the oil in a flameproof and ovenproof dish. Add the onions, celery, bay and thyme, and fry for about 8 mins until softened. Add the pork and cook for a few mins until it changes colour, but it doesn’t need to brown as you don’t want to overcook it.
- Stir in the mustard powder, garlic, flour and vinegar, then pour in the bouillon, stirring to prevent any lumps forming.
- Add the apple, leeks and carrots, bring the liquid to the boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover the pan and simmer for 1 hr, stirring occasionally, until the pork and vegetables are tender.
- When the stew is nearly cooked, heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5. To make the dumplings, tip the flour, baking powder, mustard powder, parsley and thyme into a bowl and stir to combine. Put the yogurt in a jug, make up to 100ml with water, then stir in the oil. Lightly stir the liquid into the flour to make a soft, slightly sticky dough. Divide the dough equally into eight and shape into balls. Drop them on top of the stew, drizzling each one with the remaining oil. Bake for 20 mins until the dumplings are golden. Scatter with the extra thyme, if you like, before serving.

- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Peel, core and slice the apples vertically into 8 slices each. Squeeze the lemon into a bowl of water and add the apple slices to keep from turning brown. In a medium saucepan, mix 1 cup water, 3/4 cup of the sugar, the butter and vanilla. Bring the sugar mixture to a boil over medium heat. Separate each biscuit into 2 layers. Wrap a biscuit layer around a slice of apple, stretching the biscuit slightly to overlap, and seal on the bottom. Place the wrapped slices, sealed-side down, in a 9- by 12- by 2-inch casserole dish. Pour the hot sugar mixture over the apple slices. Mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle the mixture over the tops of the wrapped apples. Bake until golden brown, 35 minutes.
