A mustard and brown sugar glazed pork chop. This recipe works best if you butterfly the chops. Tastes great served with a baked potato and corn.

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
4 pork chops
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and mustard. Mix together well.
  • Butterfly the pork chops and arrange them in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread the mustard mixture over the chops, then sprinkle with the lemon juice. Place about 1/8 of an inch of water in the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 20 minutes, or to desired doneness.

This savory pork chops and gravy recipe is a lightened version of the Southern-style classic. Plus, you can use the simple gravy technique in a number of other dishes.

Yield 4 servings (serving size: 1 chop and 1/2 cup gravy)

Number Of Ingredients 9

¼ cup all-purpose flour (about 1 ounce)
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon dried marjoram
¼ teaspoon dried thyme
¼ teaspoon dried rubbed sage
4 (4-ounce) boneless center-cut loin pork chops (about 3/4 inch thick)
1 tablespoon butter
Cooking spray
1?½ cups 1% low-fat milk

Steps:

  • Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife. Place flour, salt, dried marjoram, dried thyme, and dried rubbed sage in a shallow dish. Dredge pork in flour mixture, turning to coat; shake off excess. Reserve remaining flour mixture.
  • Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add pork to pan; cook 2 minutes on each side or until browned. Reduce heat, and cook for 10 minutes or until done, turning pork once. Remove pork from pan; keep warm.
  • Combine reserved flour mixture and milk in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk until blended. Add milk mixture to pan; place over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, scraping pan to loosen browned bits. Reduce heat, and simmer 2 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring constantly. Serve with chops.

  • Remove the pork chops from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking. Sprinkle the chops all over with 1 teaspoon of seasoned salt, then let them come to room temperature. In a shallow bowl, whisk to combine the flour, remaining 1 teaspoon of seasoned salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper. In a second shallow bowl, whisk to combine the egg and milk. In a third shallow bowl or plate, mix together the panko breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese. Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. Dredge each of the pork chops into the flour mixture, then pat to remove any excess. Next, dip each in the egg mixture, letting any excess drip off. Finally, dredge each in the panko breadcrumb mixture and place on a clean plate. Spray both sides of the pork chops lightly with non-stick cooking spray.  Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees. Place chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes. Flip the chops and cook for 4 more minutes, or until the internal temperature is at least 145 degrees.  Serve alongside a green salad and mashed potatoes.
