This easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork is made with my homemade BBQ sauce – it smells incredible while it slow cooks all day and comes out tender and delicious.

2.5 lb boneless pork loin roast (center cut, trimmed of all fat)
2 tsp red wine vinegar
2 tsp Hickory liquid smoke
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp sea salt
1 cup Homemade Kansas City BBQ Sauce

Steps:

  • Place pork in the slow cooker and season with salt, vinegar, garlic powder and liquid smoke.
  • Cover and cook low 8 to 12 hours, until tender.
  • Remove pork and transfer onto a large dish; reserve all the liquid into a cup and set aside.
  • Shred the pork with two forks and put it back into the slow cooker along with about 3/4 cup of the reserved liquid and the BBQ sauce (for every 3 oz cooked pork, I used 2 tbsp BBQ sauce).
  • Cook on high 1 more hour.

1 (2 lb) pork tenderloin (pork shoulder or butt can also be used)
1 can (12 oz) root beer
1 bottle (18 oz) barbecue sauce
8 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • Place the pork tenderloin in a slow cooker and pour the can of root beer over the meat. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until pork shreds easily with a fork.
  • Remove cooked pork to cutting board, and drain and discard the root beer. Shred pork and return it to the slow cooker. Pour the barbecue sauce over the pork and stir to combine. Serve immediately or keep warm in slow cooker until ready to serve. Serve on hamburger buns.

  • Dry pork shoulder with a paper towel and make 1” incisions with a knife all over. Pulse garlic, ¼ cup oil, cumin, salt, pepper, and oregano in a food processor until a paste is formed. Remove 2 tablespoons of the paste and set aside. Rub pork shoulder all over with remaining paste, pushing some of it into the incisions. Place pork in slow cooker, cover, and cook on low until meat is fork-tender but not yet completely falling apart, 7 1/2 to 8 hours. To make the sauce, heat remaining ¼ cup oil in a small saucepan over medium heat until shimmering. Add reserved 2 tablespoons garlic paste and let sizzle, stirring continuously until fragrant, just about 1 minute. Remove from heat and let cool before whisking in orange juice, lime juice, serrano, and cilantro. Serve sliced pork over rice with sauce drizzled on top.
